Incentives & Recognitions

  • Stallion owners subscribe their individual foal crop years. Then foal owners nominate the offspring from those stallions into the program as weanlings. The funds from those subscriptions and nominations go directly into added money at an NCHA Triple Crown event each year.

-Futurity: (The Futurity is restricted to 3-year-old cutting horses that have never been shown in judged competition. Founded in 1962, the NCHA Futurity was the sport’s first “limited age” event. With a purse approaching $4 million, it is the world’s richest indoor horse event and is contested over 22 consecutive days through November and December. The World Championship Futurity showcases the sport’s emerging talent and provides an inside look at the next generation of great horses to share the stage in one of the world’s most lucrative equine sports.)

-Super Stakes: (A purse of over $3 million is up for grabs at this event. 4-year-old horses compete in the Super Stakes Derby and its companion event for 5/6 year-olds, the Super Stakes Classic. Horses competing at the Super Stakes must be an offspring of a NCHA Stallion and Foal program subscribed stallions. They are usually nominated as weanlings - which helps to put the spotlight on the cutting horse breeder. The event is held over 20 days in March and April. This is the only show in the Triple Crown series that is considered a "closed show" because the horses must be enrolled in the Stallion and Foal Program.)

-Summer Spectacular: (The Summer Spectacular is held in July and is the final leg of the NCHA Triple Crown of Cutting and is contested over 20 days. It features the NCHA Derby for 4-year-olds, and the NCHA Classic Challenge for 5/6-year-olds and offers a purse of over $2 million. As the third jewel in the NCHA Triple Crown.)

The money from the program is segmented into 3 different buckets, one bucket is divided between the subscriber of the stallions of the winning horse, one bucket is divided between the nominators of the winning foals, and the remaining money is put into the purse across the entire show!

  • The NRCHA Subscribed Stallion program has been created to enhance the Reined Cow Horse breeding industry. Foals of subscribed stallions are eligible to compete in the NRCHA Stakes. If your horse’s sire is listed and the birth year of your horse is listed, your horse is automatically eligible for the NRCHA Stallion Stakes.
